Hi, my name is Ruth. I bought my computer for myself for my birthday
in February 1997. I had never touched one before and I was determined
to learn how to use one. With help from some wonderful friends
I learned a lot. I've managed to learn even more by trial and error and
have even been able to help a few of my friends along the way. But I'm
still learning.
I have three children and four grandchildren and I live in the beautiful
state of New Mexico.
I was very active in sports all of my life, my sports took me to places that
I never would have seen if I had not participated. I was active in
fastpitch softball most of my life. Going to tournaments in
New Mexico, Texas, and Arizona.
Hightlights of my softball days.....
1. Being selected as the All State 3rd baseman in the New Mexico state
tournament in 1971 which was held in Gallup, NM.
2. Playing in Sun City, AZ in the national tournament.
3. Watching my daughter hit a grand slam home run in Amarillo, TX tournament, which our team won (I was injured and could not play, but coached 3rd base) and watching her recieve the all tournament player trophy for 2nd base (at the tender age of 16 in a woman's league).
I started playing and coaching a Women's basketball team in the winter. Our team was the only team from New Mexico who had ever won a consolation trophy in the Women's National Basketball tournament.
I started bowling in the winter months. I had a wonderful time traveling to tournaments with my friends Polly, Pat, Allie, Bernice, and my late friend Necie. I went to invitational, state, and national tournaments from the early 1970's till I injured my knee in the 1990's.
Highlights of bowling was.....
1. Getting my first 600 series in St. Louis, MO while bowling with our team captain and friend Polly. 5/22/82
2. I went to nationals in Denver, CO., Tuscson, AZ., St. Louis, MO., and Las Vegas, NV
I quit bowling when I injured a knee, and got lazy and took up bingo 7 days a week. It got expensive so I spent my money on my PC. Best money I ever spent. smile*
